"Friendship" are the Intermediate Volleyball Champions for the Spring 20' Season. "Friendship" entered the season with high hopes of competing for the Spring 20' Championship, but they found out fast that it would not be easy.
"Friendship" was able to squeak by "Dixon Cider" with a 2-1 set victory in week one. But after week one "Friendship" was able to find their stride and won all three sets in their next three match ups. The title of Intermediate Volleyball Champions was theirs for the taking.
Each week "Friendship" was tested to the best of their abilities. But no one could stop the amazing teamwork "Friendship" displayed all season long. They proved that it takes a whole team, and not just individual talent to be successful.
Congratulations to “Friendship” on becoming the Intermediate Volleyball champs! We look forward to seeing if they can go back-to-back champions next season!
After a season delayed by a global pandemic, Just The Tip found the perseverance to fight to the end and finish on top. The indoor season began in early 2020, only to take a 12 month hiatus before resuming outdoors on grass. Just the Tip finished the season with 3 losses and a 5-3 record, and entered the 4 team playoff as the #3 seed, to face off with Smokin' Aces, the #2 seed and longtime contender. After two games, Just The Tip emerged victorious, ready to square up against the winner of the other semi-final match.
Our #1 seed, Crisco McWiggles, certainly deserved their seed, making it through the season with a 7-1 record. They faced off against the #4 Tip auf Tip and it was a battle indeed. After a contentious match and two replayed points, Tip auf Tip defeated the higher seed in two games to match up against Just the Tip in the finals.
Just The Tip would not be denied, and finished the night undefeated, winning 2-0 in the championship to take home the gold.
Congrats to Just the Tip, and our other playoff teams, and the rest of our teams in a fun, LONG, season. Thanks for sticking with us!
Congratulations to We've Been Served for hanging in there and persevering after the longest season Xoso has had to date...
After being shut down for Covid-19 for a year, We've Been Served was out in full force, winning 2 games by forfeit and two on the grass before defeating "I Spike It Like That" in two games in our championship matchup. The championship featured two 6-2 teams and We've Been Served came out on top with the win! Congrats on a great season!
After what felt like a never-ending hiatus in our volleyball tournament, Chewblocca came back to the court ready to fight for victory. The first day back at our Tuesday league at First Baptist sure was a fun one! This team brought out full stops to protect their side of the net and had some killer blocks during their two playoff games. Their teamwork and communication allowed them to adapt to their opponents and find their weak points. The final game of the night was neck and neck but Chewblocca's showed their resilience and took the W! Amazing job team, Congratulations!!!

Not only did they know how to win with technical volleyball skills but they sure did know how to have fun with it. Coming into playoffs it was fun to see a crowd of friends cheering them on. We love teams that bring their friends to come support games! With fans on the sideline cheering Chewblocca on, they surely served their fans with a competitive game. They worked hard to keep their first place ranking and rightfully deserve all their wins, amazing effort last night. Can’t wait to see what you guys bring to the courts next season!
The Volley Llamas were seeded #4 to start out playoffs and came out to win it all!
The team came back from losing the first set in the both semi-finals and in the championship. However, they kept high energy and positive spirits through those last two sets. Can't forget about Jordan L.'s 8 point serving streak, or Mitchell L.'s consistent offense to continue to rack up his kills.
The third game to take the championship was a game you wish you didn't miss. Long rallies and endless saves was not problem for the Volley Llamas. Taylor V. was always on top of getting to the ball and getting it over the net. They consistently ran plays, Jessica H. never stopped to get that second ball and set up the offense.
This was such an exciting game, it was truly a nail biter. Great job to the Volley Llamas for working hard and always showing the underdog spirit. Congratulations!!
The Attack Pack has an amazing season, and headed into the playoffs in first place. Throughout the season they honed their skills, figuring out who should stand next to whom, who could hit middle, and who could serve where. They made their games look easy by how smoothly they ran their 1s and how they dug scrappy hits, but their placement was hard fought and hard earned.
In their semi-final game the momentum shifted back and forth between You Shall Not Pass and Attack pack, often with 3 point switches. They started the game with 5 players, their sixth hopping on 15 points in-which allowed them to truly find their rhythm. They pulled out ahead by switching up the pass set hit rhythm and sending it over when it was least expected.
Their finals were against former teammates Up-Sets, leaving it contentious and competitive. In the first game the 27-25 score just shows how closely matched these teams were. This former teammate faceoff involved each team coming back from a 6 point deficit in the middle of two games-an astounding feat!
In the end, Attack Pack came out on top with incredible swings and support from each and every teammate.
Get it up, got up to the top of the standings tonight. You could tell when the game started that the Get it Up team was here to leave it all out on the floor in order to win a championship. They played the tough Dat Ace Doe team who didn't make it easy on them. Get it Up was able to pull out the victory in a tough, fun to watch, two set battle. The champs talked it up on the court, working together to take home the W. They played as one tonight and it showed. We look forward to having them back to defend their title!

They came out swinging some big hits and serving Ace's in the other teams direction. The regained focus and their hunger to win the big game, came through strong with a 15 point win in game two. After a 1-1 game, both team, dug down deep to try to get that final W of the season. The Long Con had just a little more gas in the tank to finish strong. The Setting Ducks started strong, taking a close first game. They were hot from the serving line to start out and they didn't let the back and forth lead changes get to them. Block and Awe came back in game two to show them there were there to play. This game when 3 rounds with The Setting Ducks taking it home by making some big plays when it mattered most. I Wanna Set You Up is no stranger to Playoff games with Underdog. This long-time team has been here before and they were ready to win another season! They had a double header tonight to earn their Championship spot and they did just that. Their first game of the night against "that one team" was a great starter. They came in a took care of business to get into the final match of the night. They didn't let their tired legs get to them for game two. They again took care of business with a 2-0 win!
View I wanna set you up Team PageThe Volley Llamas are no newcomers to the Underdog Championship scene.
A certain level of chemistry and communication comes with a team that's been playing together since March 2018, and the Volley Llamas are no exception.
In Monday's Midcore Championships at First Baptist, The Dream Team started strong and stunned The Volley Llamas by taking the first set. The Volley Llamas came back with a vengeance in the second set. Both teams had their serving runs, The Dream Team in the first set and The Volley Llamas in the coveted third set. Those serving runs helped them get a lead in order to close out the sets. What ultimately led The Volley Llamas to their win was their ability to convert balls to kills and their focus and perseverance. They did not let Dream Team creep back in when The Volley Llamas were in the 22-24 point range.
Congratulations to both teams on a hard-fought match and The Volley Llamas for the victory!
The "Setting Ducks" are our Friday Volleyball champions, taking down "We've Been Served" in straight sets 2-0. Impressively, they took out their opponent with relative ease, finishing both sets by the scores of 21-16, 21-9.
Throughout the season the "Setting Ducks" were the team to beat, yet rarely did that happen. In all they had a 7-2 record, with losses coming to the "Blockbusters" in week 1 and a forfeit loss to their eventual championship game opponent in the near the end of the regular season.
It didn't matter too much though, as they bounced back with a win prior to their championship game appearance. Tucked between their losses was a 4-game win streak as well, defeat their opponents by a combined 10 sets to 2.
Overall the "Setting Ducks" finish with a +12 set differential, demolishing everyone else in the league. In fact, they were the only to finish positive!
Congratulations to the "Setting Ducks" on a fantastic season!
The "Smokin' Aces" Are our Thursday Volleyball champion, defeating the "Rally Bad Puns" in a match that went the distance.
It was an intense game, with both squads competing at a high level. The first set went back and forth until the "Rally Bad Puns" pulled away towards the end with their striking offense and solid defense.
However, "Smokin' Aces" started the 2nd set with a vengeance, becoming more animated and cohesive. They rode that to a solid win to even the score and continued to carry that momentum through to the 3rd set as well. The "Rally Bad Puns" put up a fight early in that 3rd set, exchanging points, but ultimately lost 21-17 to our champs!
Overall the "Smokin' Aces" finish with a 9-1 record. Their only loss came at the hands of their championship game opponent. The 3-0 shellacking, was certainly a wakeup call, given they lost each set by an average of over 7 points. But they used that motivation well in the championship game, helping to pick up the league title!
Congratulations to the "Smokin' Aces" for not just an incredible night, but an incredible season!
It was evident that the Wildcats came to play during this second round of playoffs when their team captain brought out a rotation sheet before the games started. The games started off pretty evenly but it was the organization, determination and encouragement that lead the Wildcats to victory. When a point was lost, they were quick on their feet to correct what they messed up on and were effective in communicating that with each other. Great team effort and congratulations on your win, Wildcats!
View Wildcats Team PageIt was an exciting and close game between the Diggin' Pigz and top seed Bump Life. The score was neck-and-neck for almost the entire game and ended up in a 3rd determining set. Both teams put in great effort and it showed! Team members were sliding all over the court trying to save kills from both sides - and the diggin' pigz stayed true to their name. Bump life had some great blocks but the Diggin Pigz' countered that with great coverage and court awareness. Great hustle and congratulations, Diggin' Pigz!
View Diggin' Pigz Team PageThis match literally kept me at the edge of my seat! Both teams, Bumb Wheels and The Stuffed Pepper, gave it their all - and it was a really fun match to watch. Most of this match was spent within a five point gap, but there were also some really great runs for either team. Bumb Wheels would go on a four point run, but then Stuffed Pepper would respond with a five point run of their own. Amazing defense, even better offense for both teams. Ultimately, Bumb Wheels came out on top, but The Stuffed Pepper made them work for it!

Vollybrawlers dived for the ball left and right to get it up. The whole time on the court they had so much fun, they didn’t let the pressure get to them. Vollybrawlers cheered each other on the whole game and that boosted their moral. In the end it helped win them the championship. Congratulations Vollybrawlers!

View Skocats Team Page"Youve been ghosted" is our Tuesday Volleyball champion, defeating "Maximum Effort" in straight sets. In fact, they went undefeated in both games in last night's playoffs.
It was a dominant season for our champs, closing it out with a 9-1 record along with a +22 set differential. Their lone loss, an early season one to "Maxiumum Effort", was their only blemish.
They'd get the last laugh though, taking them down 21-14 and 21-12 for a thorough championship game thrashing. Prior to that they made quick work of "Spike Me", winning the first set 21-16 before breaking their opponent's will with a 21-8 victory to complete the sweep.
In all "You've been ghosted!" was as dominant as they come. They swept their opponent in 8 out of their 10 games this season, dropping just 3 sets in the process. Congratulations to them on an absolutely incredible season!
The "Dumpster Cats" are our Monday volleyball champion, defeating #2 "Ball Control" by the score of 2-1 in the championship. It was an epic night of games for this #5 seed, who had to fight through both the #1 and #2 seeds to take their championship crown!
As the 5th and final seed heading into the night, it was a tough uphill battle for our heroes. In their first game of the night they dominated on serves, making quick work of "Good Volleybrations" and winning in straight sets.
Hot off the win the "Dumpster Cats" next faced the top seed "Just the Tip", riding the momentum from game 1 into game 2. That came in the form of a handful of 5-serve streaks, breaking the will of their previously undefeated opponent. That would eventually lead to a 21-11, 21-14 win, securing their spot in the finals. What a dominant win!
In the championship game the "Dumpster Cats" found themselves in a hole after narrowly losing the first set 21-19. However, they came roaring back with a 21-16 win in the second set before finally winning in an incredible third set by the score of 22-20. Both teams were even throughout, trading points until the very end!
Congratulations to the "Dumpster Cats" on the incredible night!
What's silent but deadly? CC7D! They move in silence but are always aiming for the KILL! They walked onto the court tonight 7-0 and the ball quite literally in their court with them being the top seed in this league! They each bring a key component to their team which is what makes them so incredibly strong! Each rotation they depend on a different player and set up on the court to make the moves necessary to keep raking in those points! Their serves are strong and reliable but their kills are what’s bringing their opponents to their knees! They even have their own personal cheerleaders (cutest little kiddos)!! Don’t make the mistake of underestimating this team… they came to PLAY!!! Congratulations CC7D on having an AMAZING season and being our CHAMPS!

Straight Shots started off Set 1 with too many unforced errors, mainly missed serves. The low ceiling was not their friend tonight, allowing Awkward Sets with Nathan to maintain a 6 point difference. They took the game 25-20.
Set 2 began with exchanging points. Straight Shots was able to have the lead, but just for a little bit. Awkward Sets with Nathan managed to close the 5 point gap with their consistent communication supported by scrappy defense. However, it was no match for all the smart and sneaky tips Straight Shots doled out and they stole this game 25-20.
For the set 3 tiebreaker, there were more long and exciting rallies! Points were exchanged continuously. Straight Shots' ace serves and smart tips weren't enough to overcome Awkward Sets with Nathan's kills, great passes and digs which resulted in a really close game of 26-24.
Congratulations Indy #64 on a beautiful win that put a close to the season. They hit it hard tonight, diving left and right while communication flawlessly to get the ball up and over. It can be hard to join a team as an individual, that didn't stop this team at all. From the first game they are comfortable with each others skills and became a solid team. Due to that awesomeness......they took the championship title no issue! They really rocked it this season with their sportsmanship
and communication, congratulations again Indy #64.
Taking a look at the 6:30pm matchups – our semifinalist teams supplied a palpable energy through coordinated claps and synchronized chants. Garbage Time secured their place in the finals with a decisive 2-game victory over the 3-seed Kiss My Ace. The match determining the other finalist would not be so clear cut.
The 5-seed Pumpkin Spice_V2, just like the resistance, upset The Empire Spikes Back, in their first installment. True to cinematic cannon, The Empire Spikes Back regrouped and flexed their strength with a game 2 win. Game three, this is where the similarities end. The Empire.. kept their opponent at a distance and secured a spot in the championship.
Even though this was a 1-3 match up in the finals – game one play between Garbage Time and The Empire Spikes Back was evenly match. Both teams exhibited ball control, defensive coverage and full team involvement. Precision serving and capitalizing on overpasses and unforced errors made all the difference – securing 1-0 start for The Empire. Game 2 went the way of game 1. Solid play, exciting rallies and Garbage Time playing to the very last point.
The Empire Spikes Back, a first season team, continued their season-long dominance and now don the Champs title! Congratulations and see you next season!
The 8:30pm semifinal games could not have had a more different energy! The Stuff Curry/Big Digs & Nice Passes was a quieter match, with unforced errors leading to a Stuff Curry victory in 2 games. The play on court three was explosive! Both teams playing with speed, power and intensity forced a 3-game match that would ultimately effect the finals. Night Court narrowly defeated Ball Busters and would face Stuff Curry in the finals, the same team that beat them 2-1 in regular season.
When teams with opposite styles of play face off, the question is always, “whose style of game will be played”. Both teams started out shakily, not much ball control or breakaways in score. Night Court’s defense, honed through numerous seasons, seemed to fill the court – making it difficult for Stuff Curry’s big front line to get kills… but Stuff Curry’s attackers kept the onslaught on and gradually built their lead and took game 1.
Night Court was not deterred with a game 1 loss. They have been to the ‘ship before and won – they know what it takes. Stuff Curry, a first season team making their first appearance in the finals – could they close the door and take the title? An exciting game 2 was played out – big swings and big digs from both sides. Stuff Curry just seemed to be in control – showing discipline, they shook off errors and stopped Night Court from establishing any offensive momentum – thus securing their spot on the list of Underdog Champions!
Stuff Curry had a “f-u-n” season and would like to thank Underdog and their moms. They had so much fun playing against Night Court in the finals and give them a shoutout for such a positive and fun match.
Congrats on the title and see you next season!
